They say the digital image has no soul. It remembers everything, but feels nothing.
1972 is a rejection of the pristine. It is a return to the raw, the grainy, and the imperfect sensual energy of the Mediterranean shore. It is the year I was born, reimagined through the lens of memory. Not as it was, but as it felt.
The Brief: SUMMER 2026 SERIES
1. THE CONCEPT
“1972” is a dedicated photographic study exploring the intersection of Mediterranean nostalgia, shoegaze atmospherics, editorial portraiture, and cinematic sensuality. We are moving away from the “perfect” digital image, returning to the raw, grainy texture of 35mm film and cinema cameras. The goal is to capture genuine, unguarded moments—not posed modeling.
3. THE SHOOT
Sessions are intimate, low-production, and styled to feel like a film set. The atmosphere is collaborative and slow-paced, focusing on mood and lighting rather than volume of outfits. Location scouting focuses on coastal textures and brutalist architecture.
2. THE MUSE
We are not looking for “Instagram Models” or influencers. We are scouting for Character and Presence. We seek subjects who are comfortable with a natural, raw aesthetic. Imperfections, unique features, and emotional depth are preferred over commercial perfection.
4. THE RELEASE
Selected works will be curated by Film Director Jean-Claude Dib into The 2026 Collection. This series will be released digitally via the Archive (@1972.raw) and potentially compiled into a limited-edition monograph (print publication).
